To promote traditional Chinese culture, nurture employees’ inner well-being, and strengthen team harmony, in January 2026, OPTO-EDU organized a meaningful team-building event titled “Buddha Clay Plaque Coloring & Hand-Painted Night Lamp DIY.” Blending traditional artistry, mindful practice, and creative expression, this activity invited employees to pick up brushes and light up their hearts—crafting not only beautiful artworks but also deeper connections within the team.
The event started in a relaxed atmosphere. A student introduced himself and his teachers of the historical background and cultural importance of Buddha clay plaques, showing that coloring these holy images is not only an artistic process, but also a mindfulness and reverence. Staff gathered their focus and painted the clay plaque before the presentation began. From base washes to delicate detailing, every brushstroke reflected concentration, care, and respect. Throughout the process, colleagues exchanged color-mixing tips and shared reflections, deepening mutual understanding through collaborative creation.
The second part of the event - hand-painted night lamps, encouraged this. People wore plain lamps with lotus flowers, clouds, sutra excerpts, or other symbolic symbols, and inscribed “peace”, “Tranquility” and “Together in Harmony”. When the lamps were lit, soft light reflected from the hand-painted designs and filled the room with a light, a signal of inner-wishing and warmness.
This team-building session was more than just an art workshop; it was a journey of inner stillness and human connection. Coloring the Buddha plaques offered a rare moment of calm amid busy work schedules, while crafting personalized night lamps allowed everyone to transform goodwill into tangible light—shared among colleagues and carried into the future.
