The origin of "C" in C Mount is the initial letter of "cinema". On the eyepiece tube, the coupling of optical microscope and digital imaging equipment is realized.
For some complex microscopes that require multiple cameras, there may also be multiple C Mount connection ports.
C Mount has strict international specification requirements. It is designed according to the "ANSI B1.1" international standard. The diameter of each thread of the C-type interface is 1 inch (25.4 mm), that is, 32 threads per inch. The distance from the installation reference plane to the focal plane is strictly regulated as 17.526mm.
Commonly used standard C Mounts mainly include TV1.0XC, TV0.5XC, and TV0.35XC.
How to choose the C Mount?
In order to make the image captured by the digital camera as close as possible to the field of view observed by the microscope eyepiece, it is necessary to select C-mounts with different magnifications according to the size of the digital camera sensor. Field of View Diameter = Eyepiece Field of View / Magnification
In the optical microscope, if the configured eyepiece is WF10x/22mm, that is, the number of fields of view is 22mm, and the actual field of view diameter when using a 40x objective lens is 22mm/40x=0.55mm
In the digital microscope, if the appropriate C-Mount is selected, and the entire field of view of the CCD sensor can be seen, the calculation method should be similar. For example, the size of CCD chip is 8mm, with 0.5x CMount, 100x objective lens, the actual field of view is 8mm/0.5x/100x=0.16mm The following table lists digital cameras with different chip sizes, which need to be configured with C-Mount of different magnifications.

How to use C Mount?
To Trinocular Microscope On Straight Photo Tube
There are also some imaging devices that have a built-in reducing mirror, and can also be directly connected to the third eyepiece tube of the microscope without using the C Mount.
OPTO-EDU can provide four major brand interfaces including Olympus, Zeiss, Nikon, and Leica, as well as various magnification interfaces including domestic ones, to ensure the image quality.
